    <description>Título: Os benefícios da natação e a ludicidade nesse meio para o desenvolvimento e crescimento de crianças de 3 a 7 anos
Resumo: Swimming is the ability of humans and other animals to move around in water &#xD;
(MARTINS, 2014). The action of infantile swimming involves from the activation of &#xD;
the child's brain cells, to a better and earlier development of their psychomotricity, &#xD;
sociability and reinforcement of the morphological cardiovascular system (TINTI; &#xD;
LAZZERI, 2010). The initiation of this modality, in this age group, should allow &#xD;
exploration of movement and perceptive-motor learning. The general objective of this &#xD;
work is to evaluate the benefits brought by swimming practice for the development &#xD;
and growth of children aged three to seven years old in clubs in the city of Natal / RN. &#xD;
This study is characterized as an exploratory research of the qualitative type, aiming &#xD;
to: question the population to be approached, compare the results of the &#xD;
questionnaires with the observations made in the practice and analyze the benefits &#xD;
brought. Work consists of 40 parents of children, being children from 9 to 7 years of &#xD;
age. The data collection was developed through a previously structured &#xD;
questionnaire containing 5 questions, 1 being open and 4 closed, which were &#xD;
directed to the parents of the children. After this, the questionnaires were evaluated &#xD;
and it was noticed that the parents' goals were reached in relation to the chosen &#xD;
sport, as well as they are satisfied with the results. They also perceived other benefits &#xD;
achieved, if satisfied with the results presented by their children so far.

    <title>Força de preensão manual relativa em idosas com diferentes perfis de desempenho funcional de membros inferiores</title>
    <link>http://repositorio.unirn.edu.br/jspui/handle/123456789/1249</link>
    <description>Título: Força de preensão manual relativa em idosas com diferentes perfis de desempenho funcional de membros inferiores
Resumo: Handgrip strength (HGS) is associated with functional capacity in the elderly.&#xD;
Lower limb muscle strength and dynamic balance are important predictors of&#xD;
functional performance in this population. Therefore, analyzing whether there are&#xD;
differences in relative Handgrip Strength values(HGSrel) between different profiles of&#xD;
lower limb muscle strength and dynamic balance may help to identify older&#xD;
individuals with reduced functional performance simply, rapidly, and cheaply. The&#xD;
aim of the present study was to compare the relative handgrip strength between the&#xD;
different functional performance profiles of lower limbs in elderly women. Sixty-six&#xD;
inactive elderly women (67.1 ± 4.8 years) were submitted to: i) evaluation of HGS ii)&#xD;
evaluation of lower limb strength; and iii) assessment of agility and dynamic balance.&#xD;
Lower limb strength and dynamic agility and balance were categorized as superior&#xD;
performance (above 25th percentile) and lower (below 25th percentile) performance.&#xD;
From this three functional performance profiles were considered: Upper Performance&#xD;
Group (GDS), Moderate Performance Group (GDM), Lower Performance Group&#xD;
(GDI). The one-way ANOVA statistical test with Bonferroni post hoc was used. The&#xD;
elderly women in the GDS presented a higher relative MPF (0.65 ± 0.19 kg) when&#xD;
compared to the elderly GDM (0.46 ± 0.12 kg, p &lt;0.001) and the elderly GDI (0.45&#xD;
0.14 kg, p = 0.006). We conclude that elderly women with lower functional&#xD;
performance presented low values of relative handgrip strength.
