It’s emphasized in the media, in specialized literature and, mainly, in common sense, sexual infidelity as responsible for marital and commitment relationships ruptures. It’s questioned: in what consists the marital infidelity? Are there others infidelity types, beyond sexual, in marital relationships? What’re the reasons governing that act? What’re the consequences for the family and for the individuals involved? It’s pointed out, among several others reasons, the tendency present in human beings to transgress and marriage crisis, as main causes of infidelity on couple relationships. Recently, conjugal relationships researchers have highlighted other infidelities present in relationships, as powerful as sexual, capable to cause relational ruptures. It’s proposed, in this article to reflect about infidelity through a new prism. According to the studies performed, it was concluded that broaden the understanding of infidelity, beyond sexual betrayal, should assist family and couple therapists to have a broader vision of marital relationships and to contemplate many others possibilities to achieve family solutions. Both the man and the woman must to start a family plan whether or not to have children or how many children they wish to have, who will be the "provider" of the house, who decide sobres finances etc. these decisions can be taken by one or both since the couple so wish. The process of forming a family that begins with the couple must be well thought out and should interest only to spouses no matter for them to follow a "social model" of how a couple should behave inside and outside of the family context. Only spouses must know what is best for both with regard to the treatment of each other as husband and wife, on the best way to take care of the offspring and also how will the division of labor is only one works or both . That being so is may be easier to develop a family in a healthy way and according to the identity that characterizes it.
