<description>Título: A atuação da fisioterapia nos diferentes estágios do Alzheimer para manutenção funcional: uma revisão integrativa
Resumo: Objectives: This study aimed to identify scientific evidence regarding the role of physiotherapy in individuals with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) across different stages of the disease, highlighting intervention modalities, clinical applications, therapeutic effects, and contributions to the maintenance of functional capacity. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review with a descriptive design and qualitative approach. The search was conducted in the PubMed, SciELO, and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases between August 2025 and May 2026, using the descriptors Alzheimer's disease, exercise, physiotherapy, physiotherapy modalities, and rehabilitation, combined with the Boolean operator AND. Results: A total of 41 articles were analyzed, identifying different physiotherapeutic approaches for the treatment of AD. Multimodal or multicomponent programs were the most frequently reported interventions, followed by aerobic exercise and cognitive training. The studies revealed a wide variety of instruments for cognitive, functional, behavioral, psychosocial, and muscle strength assessment. A scarcity of research focusing on the advanced stage of the disease was observed, as well as limited specificity in the description of interventions according to the clinical stage. Conclusion: Physiotherapy stands out as a fundamental strategy in the management of AD, contributing to the maintenance of functionality, autonomy, and quality of life. The findings reinforce its role in promoting neuroplasticity and reducing functional decline through multimodal exercises, dual-task protocols, and digital technologies. However, methodological heterogeneity and the lack of protocol standardization highlight the need for more robust longitudinal studies to strengthen evidence-based clinical practice.

<title>Reabilitação precoce na paralisia cerebral: importância e impactos nos desfechos motores - uma revisão integrativa</title>

<description>Título: Reabilitação precoce na paralisia cerebral: importância e impactos nos desfechos motores - uma revisão integrativa
Resumo: to analyze the importance and effectiveness of early rehabilitation compared to late rehabilitation in cerebral palsy and its impact on motor outcomes in children, as well as to discuss factors influencing the timely initiation of intervention through an integrative literature review. Methods: studies published from 2016 onward were included from PubMed, MEDLINE, and SciELO databases up to March 2026. Study selection and data extraction were performed independently by two researchers. The analysis was descriptive and comparative of the selected literature. Results: among the 33 studies analyzed, 17 (51.52%) showed a significant positive impact of early rehabilitation on motor outcomes in children with cerebral palsy, while 1 (3.03%) found no significant differences. The main interventions identified were bimanual training (17.9%), CIMT (14.9%), motor learning and neuroplasticity-based approaches (11.9%), task-oriented training (10.4%), home-based programs (10.4%), and family-centered interventions (9.0%). Less frequently reported were the Vojta method (3.0%), vibration therapy (3.0%), Bobath concept (3.0%), GAME (3.0%), baby-BIM (1.5%), baby-CIMT (1.5%), and other associated therapeutic resources (1.5%), as identified in the included studies. Conclusions: early rehabilitation has a significant positive impact on motor outcomes, especially when initiated within the first months of life. Evidence shows improvements in gross and fine motor function, postural control, mobility, coordination, and functional independence. Active, intensive, and goal-directed therapies demonstrated better outcomes. However, resource limitations, shortage of professionals, lack of standardized protocols, and diagnostic delays still hinder its implementation in current clinical practice.

<title>Associação entre nível de atividade física, preensão palmar e pressões respiratórias de estudantes universitários</title>

<description>Título: Associação entre nível de atividade física, preensão palmar e pressões respiratórias de estudantes universitários
Resumo: Introduction: respiratory and peripheral muscle strength is associated with functional performance and global health. Physical exercise promotes improvements in muscle strength and lung function preservation, but the intense academic routine frequently induces sedentarism among university students. Objective: to investigate the association between handgrip strength and respiratory muscle strength in healthy university students and verify if these variables are influenced by physical activity level. Methods: this was a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, and observational study. The sample consisted of 25 healthy university students, recruited by snowball strategy. Handgrip strength (HGS), physical activity level (IPAQ), and maximal respiratory pressures (MIP and MEP) were evaluated, using correlation tests with 5% significance. Results: the sample showed physical activity levels above WHO recommendations, MIP below predicted, and HGS superior to predicted values for both sexes. There was no significant association between physical activity level and MIP (p&gt;0.05), nor between HGS and maximal respiratory pressures (MIP and MEP) in either sex (p&gt;0.05). Conclusion: there appears to be an independence between HGS and the pressure capacity of the ventilatory muscles in the sample, with HGS not serving as a predictor of the ventilatory pump. Habitual physical activity level was not a significant predictor or optimizer of maximal inspiratory strength in either sex, acting as an independent domain of respiratory muscle performance in this population.

Resumo: Objectives: To investigate how physiotherapy contributes to the management of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). Methods: Studies on CIPN indexed in the SciELO, LILACS, and PubMed databases were selected. The search was conducted using descriptors combined with Boolean operators, covering the period from 2015 to 2025. Article selection and data extraction followed previously defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Cancer types, chemotherapeutic agents, clinical manifestations, physiotherapeutic interventions, and impacts on quality of life were analyzed. Results: The analysis revealed a predominance of breast cancer patients and a higher frequency of taxane use, especially paclitaxel, associated with the development of CIPN. The most frequent manifestations were peripheral sensory alterations, neuropathic pain, motor deficits, and functional impairment. The main rehabilitation strategies identified were multicomponent therapeutic exercises involving strength, balance, coordination, and aerobic activities. Discussion: Despite the methodological variability among the studies, physiotherapeutic interventions demonstrated potential to reduce neuropathic symptoms, preserve functionality, and minimize the impacts of chemotherapy on the quality of life of cancer patients. Therapeutic exercise programs stood out as safe and effective non-pharmacological strategies, particularly when initiated early during chemotherapy treatment. Conclusion: Physiotherapy demonstrated relevant therapeutic potential in the management of CIPN. However, a scarcity of studies involving patients with chronic conditions was observed, highlighting the need for research focused on long-term follow-up and post-chemotherapy rehabilitation due to the persistence of neuropathic symptoms after treatment.
