Ribeira digital: intervenção urbanística em área de valor patrimonial

Abstract

Ribeira Digital focuses on urban intervention in an area of heritage value in the Ribeira's neighborhood, in Natal/RN. Based on theories and stories about the restoration and built heritage, the possibility of a requalification, restoration, reconfiguration, revitalization through a MasterPlan, about the insertion of the Digital Pole in some of the buildings at Chile Street, is analyzed. The choice of the intervention area is due to the importance of the neighborhood for the city's history, aiming to rescue the memory of Potiguar Architecture and provide a path that can bring vitality. At the same time, to propose the insertion of uses in the technological scope, so that they foster a “digital economy”. This intervention seeks to encourage the creative economy, but also to stimulate day and night life at Ribeira. The MasterPlan proposal aims at an eclectic and contemporary architecture, restoring facades of existing buildings, bringing back the memory of the time and renovating its interior respecting and requalifying its original structure with the style of the current architecture we live in. In the same sense, to understand this perspective and through diagnoses, a new urban landscape is developed for an area that contemplates the Potengi River, seeking to reverse the process of degradation and abandonment. Generating a new flow of people and businesses in the region; meet the parameter of living in a sustainable way, with locomotion prioritizing pedestrians in an even more accessible way. In summary, the proposal brings as a philosophy a vision that aims to encourage digital inclusion, the increase of the local economy, urbanity and boost a more lifestyles contemporary and more sustainable.
