Tratamento fisioterapêutico na síndrome do impacto do ombro - uma revisão bibliográfica

Abstract

Introduction: The shoulder complex is a set of structures composed of synovial joints and muscles, therefore, the set of these structures makes the shoulder the most mobile region of the body, allowing a wide variety of movement, making it have a great risk of injury in this region. Therefore, shoulder impingement syndrome is one of the most common disorders of the body along with low back pain and physiotherapy will play a fundamental role in the rehabilitation of patients with this pathology. Objective: To analyze scientific studies on the role of physiotherapy in the treatment of shoulder impingement syndrome. Methodology: This is an integrative descriptive bibliographic research, which brought together 27 articles published between the years 2010 and 2023 that used the descriptors "treatment", "physiotherapy", "Shoulder Collision Syndrome", "treatment", "physical therapy”, “shoulder impingement syndrome”, and whose theme was about physiotherapeutic treatment in shoulder impingement syndrome. Results: Among 27 articles found, after a full text reading screening, 15 articles were excluded for the reasons of not meeting the following criteria: Causes of shoulder pain that were not clearly identified as SIS, complementary therapies that did not include kinesiotherapy, short period of physiotherapeutic treatment and articles that did not focus on physiotherapeutic treatment. A total of 12 articles were included in the study, as they met the criteria for physiotherapeutic treatment. Conclusion: Taking into account the results presented in this article, we can conclude that physiotherapy plays a fundamental role in the treatment of patients with shoulder impingement syndrome through electrotherapy, manual therapy and therapeutic exercises, but if conservative treatment is not If the patient's clinical condition improves, it is recommended that the patient perform the surgical procedure on the shoulder affected by SIS.
