A proteção do patrimônio histórico e cultural

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the protection of historical and cultural heritage, based on the analysis of legislation, specific cases that were notorious throughout the country, reports, scientific articles and books inherent to the topic studied. It is observed that the incidence of crimes of this nature has been growing year by year, given the abandonment and neglect of many government officials with this cause, another major factor and the lack of interest of the population itself. In 1998, more precisely on February 12, Law 9605, called the Environmental Crimes Law, brought many changes, since what we had before were sparse legislation, which did not treat criminal conduct with such seriousness, many advances have occurred and they occur day by day resulting in the protection we have today in order to guarantee that the historical and cultural heritage is preserved, we have laws and mechanisms for this purpose. But what we see in practice is the lack of commitment of government officials and people in the community to the topic, which should be treated in a special way given its importance.
